Kuthpady Chandra Shetty - The Chairman & Managing Director of Lumens Group of Companies, is the son of Billady Doddamane Late Vittal Shetty and Kuthpady Doddamane Patels house Late Drowmani Shetty of (Udupi, Karnataka). Born in a reputed Bunt family, he had his basic education upto 12 th standard at Udupi, then in Kushalnagar, North Coorg. He then did his OMP from S.P. Jain College in Mumbai.
He then joined M/S Bajaj Electricals Ltd. in 1972 in Mumbai as a Quality Control Engineer and completed 10 successful years through experience across various departments.
During his engagement with M/S Bajaj Electricals Ltd, he was exposed to manufacturing of lighting fixtures, where-in, he interacted with who’s who in the corporate world and gained rich knowledge in various lighting manufacturing segments.
He used his rich industry experience to give wind to his dreams. In the year 1982, Mr. K.C. Shetty’s thought process started to set up his own industry and drew up a road map to convert his dream into reality. In the year 1982 he acquired industrial land and set up his first lighting fixtures manufacturing unit in Goregoan-Mumbai—M/s Lumens India.
Thereafter year on year he diversified into other product range related to interior and electronics & electrical market . He added capacities & expanded manufacturing base to many locations in Mumbai ,Daman & Bangalore.
Mr. Shetty is President of Indian Bunts Chamber of Commerce & Industries.
